Founders Stories 02 | Kenny Pallas, The Links Diary
When and where did you launch The Links Diary?
The Links Diary launched in July 2020, mid-pandemic in Scotland.
Who are the founders of The Links Diary and what are their day to day roles now?
We're a four person team consisting of Jamie Darling - editor and operations, Graeme McCubbin - photography and videography, Stuart Currie - design and photography, Kenny Pallas - editor and brand partnerships.
What was your motivation for starting The Links Diary?
A lack of engaging and original content that celebrates the joy of golf and being a golfer.
Do you have a favourite piece of content from your issues published to date? Why is it your favourite?
Each edition seems to get better, my favourite thing is the cover of our third edition though. A green marker from Western Gailes that is no longer there that symbolises golf as a religion.
What would be your bucket list story/interview/profile/event to cover?
We've never had this discussion as a team. We would love to cover more stories about the characters and unsung heroes that shape the golfing experience in Scotland and beyond.
What do your 2024 plans look like? Are there any projects you are especially excited about?
We're very excited for the year ahead and expanding our offering. We will create more films, bring in experiences that bring our stories to life and build a membership for our most ardent fans.
Finally, what other sports media do you consume for inspiration and enjoyment?
Our biggest inspiration are those stories you hear when you're sitting in a clubhouse and get chatting to that random member who lets you under the skin of a golf club. To us, this is gold and it is a privilege to have the responsibility to help share those stories.
